We are proud to provide superior DNA and paternity testing at the most reasonable cost in Springfield and southwest Missouri. Testing is provided for legal and court admissable needs as well as private individuals. (See info below for discount pricing!)

DNA paternity testing determines whether a man could be the biological father of a child. We all inherit our DNA (the genetic material) from our biological parents.

A DNA paternity test compares a child’s DNA pattern with that of the alleged father to check for evidence of this inheritance – the most definitive proof of a biological relationship.

Reasons you may need a DNA/Paternity test include:

  • Qualify for Social Security or Military benefits
  • Update Birth Certificate to add/remove father’s name
  • Child custody or child support issues
  • Adoption
  • Inheritance or probate concerns
  • Personal / informational family concerns
  • Divorce

The result of a DNA paternity test is either an exclusion (the alleged father is not the biological father), or an inclusion (the alleged father is considered the biological father). For a standard paternity test, our accredited laboratories guarantee at least 99.99% probability of paternity for inclusions or 100% certainty of exclusion. Most tests confirm at a 99.9999% level of paternity.

Establishing paternity is necessary for many reasons, it allows a child:

  • Access to his or her parents’ social security
  • Family inheritance benefits
  • Provides medical history (may provide insight to genetic diseases)
  • Provide treatment and possibly cure for some medical conditions
  • Provide peace of mind to family
  • Protects a father’s rights when child is born to non-married parents

If mom was not married to her child’s father, she must legally establish paternity to collect child support payments. She must establish paternity before she can establish a court order for child support. More families than ever before need to establish paternity in the U.S.

There has been a 377% increase in the number of children born to never married-parents in the past 10 years. Paternity may also need to be established if a couple was married and living apart when the child was conceived or if the couple was married and the husband says he is not the biological father.

KT Health Clinic’s paternity test uses the Chain of Custody to ensure that you receive accurate and legally defensible results.

For all of our DNA testing services, KT Health Clinic and our certified laboratories:

  • Run each test twice, following the most stringent procedures to guarantee accurate and conclusive results.
  • Completed results in as little as 3-5 working days or less.
  • Follow a strict Chain of Custody to ensure results are legally admissible.
  • Maintain confidentiality of each case using strict communication protocols.
  • Appointments preferred, but ‘walk-ins’ welcome

Tested Parties

In a standard DNA paternity test, the tested parties include a child, the alleged father, and the mother (called a trio). We start the testing process with a non-refundable partial payment. The mother’s participation in the paternity test helps to exclude half of the child’s DNA, leaving the other half for comparison with the alleged father’s DNA. However, we can perform a paternity test without mother’s participation (called a motherless), which involves additional analysis, without any additional charge. Results are equally conclusive whether or not the mother participates.

Motherless tests are guaranteed to have at least a 99.9% probability of paternity for inclusions and 100% for exclusion.

DISCOUNT Pricing!!! – We also can test additional children or alleged fathers if needed; there is a discounted DNA testing and analysis fee for each additional tested party.

Sample Collection

We routinely use the painless buccal (cheek) swab to collect samples.
A sample collection for each paternity test case routinely includes one child, mother and alleged father. Additional children or alleged fathers may be included at an additional discount fee. Payment for all tests include sample collection by a professional collector, shipping, and laboratory analysis. Donors may be scheduled to come for collections at separate times if preferred. When needed, we also arrange for DNA collections out of state and in other countries for your convenience!

Chain of Custody Process

Paternity samples are collected using a Chain of Custody documentation process that ensures results will be accepted by courts and other government agencies (ie Social Security). This legal documentation process makes all of our results court-admissible. (This may be important now or even in later years due to family inheritance issues, etc.)

Some situations require court admissible results. This means that the results of the tests are allowed to be used in a court of law as evidence. In order to be admissible, tests and results must be handled according to certain legal procedures.

Please note – ‘Home’ DNA testing and other DNA testing procedures will not provide you legal proof of paternity. We proudly offer legal admissible testing at no extra charge!
